Burlingame Church is community-oriented, and we have a particular focus on supporting the efforts of our homeless citizens to move from life on the streets to integration back into society.  We recognize there are many organizations in Portland dedicated to providing day to day services for the homeless and we have partnered with some of these organizations.  It is not our intention to compete in an effort to provide similar services, ours is more of an outreach program dedicated to supporting individuals through detoxification, building self confidence, finding work and eventually a home.

Since March of 2000 we have spent time on the streets of Portland meeting people and building relationships.  It takes a long time and a lot of work to develop a relationship trusting enough that an individual will believe we will be there to support them through their entire attempt to move off of the streets.  It is a bigger challenge than most of us can understand.  For more information please visit our companion website:
