What We Believe
Jesus Christ is God become human. He lived without sin and cared for all people. He suffered, died, and rose on the third day. Christ is our mediator with the Father, and gives us grace and mercy to help in times of need. He will physically return to establish His kingdom (John 1:1-18; Romans 8:3-4; Hebrews 2:14-18).
Salvation is for humanity. It is a gift of God's grace received through faith in Christ. It is not based on works. God forgives sin and justifies the ungodly. He removes us from punishment and adopts us into His family. He gives each one His Spirit as a guarantee of eternal life (John 1:12-13; Romans 1:12-13; 3:23; 6:23; Ephesians 2:4-10).
The Bible is God's revelation from God. God transmitted His truth through chosen messengers and preserved it by His Spirit. The 66 books of the Bible are the final authority for life and godliness (Matthew 5:17-20; 1 Corinthians 2:7-13; 2 Peter 1:16-21).
The Church is a group of people called into relationship with Christ and invited into a new community of faith by which we have our introduction into God's grace. We are the Body of Christ, a chosen race, royal ambassadors and a people chosen by God to reflect His presence to each other and those who do not know His love and grace. This group has this unbelievable privilege of being the family of God on the basis of a new birth and adoption into God's family. We are, in some amazing mystical way, God's possession and a people set apart to follow Jesus, in authentic community for the sake of the world.
God calls us to make Christ visible in the way we live: by encouraging others in following Jesus and walking in a manner worthy of the Lord that pleases Him in everything (1 Corinthians 3:10-17; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:5, 9-10).
